I recently started and finished a book!

Yes, I just used an exclamation mark. And yes, I was an English major, by golly.

But, this is reason to celebrate. You see, I usually have one or two books about the house that I’m very s-l-o-w-l-y reading. (I do have a baby, 2 year old and 4 year old, folks.) But I haven’t actually picked
up and devoured a book in quite a few months. And, as I’m kind of a
professional development fiend…most of my books are typically
parenting-related (this parenting gig being my full-time work these
days).

So, back to the post. I read a book! I mentioned this book a few months ago on a Sharing Saturday and finally bought a copy and devoured it. I read it in three days…and it
only took me that long because I didn’t want it to end, so I started
putting it down after a few sentences to avoid finishing it.

29 Gifts: How a Month of Giving Can Change Your Life, by Cami Walker, was truly an inspiring, fulfilling and spiritual read. The act (and art) of giving is
at the heart of every world religion.

Because I loved this book, I thought I’d pass along my copy in this little give-away. I’ve just set up my own profile at the 29 Gifts website to log my own giving journey. So, to kick things off, I’m giving my copy of the book
away. I’ll write my name in it and mail it to the winner. A little
homegrown give away…this is. So, anyone want to make a pledge to focus
on daily giving and self-improvement?
