Safety Tips to Prevent Your Dream Pool from Becoming a Nightmare

Whether it’s a cosy hot tub, a full-sized pool or something in between, having a private place to take a dip at home is one of life’s greatest luxuries. There is little that compares to shrugging off the day’s troubles with a few relaxing laps or a good book and the gentle massage of…

OUR DAILY PINS

I am in the process of setting up blogs for my 2 younger boys. I hope to spark an interest in writing. I also would like to improve their written communication skills. All my boys excel in math but will do bare minimum when it comes to writing complete sentences and essays.

Is there an interest in other Mom Salon families to start a kid's blog section or group? I am concerned about creating a positive, safe environment to express themselves and get positive feedback.

What would be the best way to go about this?

My oldest ( 5th grader ) has no interest in blogging. My middle child ( 4th grader ) and youngest ( 1st grader ) are just getting started. Alex, age 9 1/2 just started posting on http://www.absolutelyalexander.blogspot.com/br /> /a>...
Thanks! Alex got a kick out of Kyle's reply! Let me know if he starts a blog. I am trying to get Alex to write some more.

Colin's blog is just getting set up. His first post is a bit rough but I added 2 photos and published it. http://www.collossalcolin.blogspot.com/

I'm trying to get him back on his computer to write some more. I think I'll try to start a group for Mom Blogger's club kids.
Kyle couldn't wait to get home from school today to do his blog... I think it's great! All the boys want to do one... if there were only a few more hours in a day. As a 1st grade teacher... I see a lot of potential for this to be a tremendous sounding board for the kids. Interesting conversation spring board for dinner discussions too...
Yea!! Alex promised to post tonight about Valentines Day at school. My husband is not a fan of the blogging because he is concerned about predators. I think there are more attractive venues such as MySpace for stalkers. This is why I started a group for Kid Bloggers and made it by invitation only. I also preview both incoming and outgoing messages for the boys.

When your boys get their blogs up, please get us the links so my boys can visit. I see this as a modern version of pen pals. I definately see the educational component here. Hopefully we can start something!
