What would you differently if you could start your blog all over again?

- register a domain name?
- hire a designer?
- not blog about my family?

What would you do differently?

I would NEVER have told my MIL about my blog. If she weren't reading, oh the stories I could tell!!
I still plan to register a domain - as soon as I figure one out that I want to use. Until then, I'm happy as I am. I do this more for me and a few select friends/followers. If I finally get into the realm of having a domain, then I'll get serious about the template and making some major changes about how my blog is powered - possibly leave blogspot? Hard call.
I keep thinking more exciting titles than JDaniel4's Mom. I am still learning too much to realize that I should change things.
i started my blog in june ....went from wordpress.com to wordpress.org in august....changed theme, feel, categories and added google friend connect late last week...joined under 100 follower MBC club over the weekend (already 50+ members have joined the google friend connect)
i need to activate the redirecting plugin for my feedburner feed...this will shoot up the subscriber count to atleast 280+)

Hail MBC!

Change is easy....do it!

Also the theme that i have chosen, lets me add my own header...i have chosen Halloween look currently! yippee!
Okay, I am new to blogging, so am still learning the ropes. What is MBC club?
MBC = Mom Bloggers Club

and the first time I saw it on my page I was stumped too. LOL
If I could start all over again I would have registered my domain and not used Blogger/blogspot. I just moved my site to my own domain and it's like starting all over again.
I would have started on a self hosted wordpress blog and avoid all of the headache that came with switching, loss of page rank, loss of all the links, etc.
I just started my blog over... my mommy blog on a new domain. I got lucky finding the domain, and it fits me more than my previous. I am still new on the mommy blogging end, but not unfamiliar to running and developing websites, so I am glad to finally find a place I can be inspired to write at.
I think I would have waited until I had my logo finished. My skills with Photoshop are akin to a 4 year old coloring. A friend is making mine now and it's not like I'm an established "brand". But it's always a little bit of an embarrassment when I click on my own site!

I'd really like to know what the deal is with paid-to-post sites. I haven't checked out much about these. Can someone explain the lowdown of what it is and why it stinks? Thanks! ;)
Have done that a few times LOL :) I always keep my old post though and incorporate them into the blogs they fit.
I would have focused my topic more . . . my blog tends to cover the spectrum of everything from news and politics to religion to motherhood . . . horrible way to gain an audience when you don't have a target audience!
