I run a health blog for moms. I have about ten other moms that write for me and we do a lot more than just giveaways and reviews. I am with you on this! I usually skip through reviews on my favorite blogs and read the other things that they write about. There are some blogs that I used to love in the past but they just turned into review and giveaway blogs so I stopped reading them.

I am a new mom and a literacy specialist and instructor at Columbia University, so I blog about how moms and others can foster a love of reading and writing -- even when your child is just a baby.
I don't do any reviews or sell anything--it's purely for information and for fun!

HI Melissa! I am so thankful for your post. I am currently an ad free, review free blog that is all about changing the way parents feed their children. I have spent my life battling autoimmune diseases, physical disabilites, and chronic pain. Only after altering the way I eat (and the grace of God), have I began to reverse some of the debilitating effects and triumph over infertility. After receiving a much larger "audience" than I anticipated, I have began to attract some interest from companies regarding reviews and giveaways. I will admit that it is enticing because I know they will bring more people into the Healthnut Foodie community. However, I am really scared to turn people off and make them believe I am just in this for the money (so far I have not made a dime...or penny). What are your thoughts on the proper way to "monetize" your blog without comprimising your integrity?
