I love blogging. It has been a sanity saver for me so far and I have really enjoyed meeting so many wonderful people. The problem is that I feel like I am not managing my time well. I will log in to write a post and end up commenting on other blogs for so long that my window to write is gone or vice versa.
Here's my question how do you mange your blogging time. Do you devote a certain amount og time to commenting, networking and writing posts?What tricks have come up with?
Great question! I have the same problem and I have much less time to blog now for personal reasons that I have not written about on my blog:)
My new comment strategy is to comment on my buddy blogs/faithful readers (you are one of them!), then comment on the bogs of those who left comments in my last post. If I have free time another day then I will spend time commenting on new blogs.
I have started to set an alarm that my husband hears go off. He has to come and get me if I do not appear 5 minutes after the alarm goes off. So far, it's working.
I've eased up on the networking because sleep is more important. I've been lucky though as I have received some press reviews in French magazines and newspapers so my blog is starting to take off with expats and Frenchies here. I just have to let the viral thing takes it course. I also give myself one marketing/networking goal per week so I can have time to focus on writing, twittering, commenting, and attending to my personal email as well.
I have not been good about visiting my commenter's blogs. I am working that into my schedule. Speaking of that schedule-I have created a schedule for blogging and social media (not including Twitter and Facebook which I visit several times a day). I work outside of the home on Tuesday and Wednesday so my online schedule is lighter those days.
I write for 4 blogs and my minimum goal is 3 posts per blog per week so I have a schedule that I write for blog A Mon-Wed-Fri, blog B Mon-Thu-Fri, blog C Mon-Thu-Sat and Blog D Tues-Thu-Sat.
I am also active in 4 .ning groups, and 3 forums so those are each scheduled to visit at least twice a week. All of these activities are listed at toodledo.com and synched to my iPod Touch toodledo app, so I know what needs to happen that day.
I have also created a blog organizing binder that I am still tweeking-but so far it is really working for me.
