I’m really proud and fond of my daughter. Though sending her to college makes me really scared, I know she won’t let me down and that she can do this even if she's away from me. Living in a dorm far from her parents is such a new challenge for her and for me. My girl and I have a wonderful relationship, and now she's moving to her cozy dorm which by the way is so cool because we pimp it online! My daughter found this really great website called http://www.designyourdorm.com; it’s really fun and really helpful! I think it’d be really cool if you and your kids will design their room on this site! It’s a great way of bonding with your kids. Moving forward, the girls like to share their feelings and happenings in school/college with their moms. And I'm just looking forward to seeing and talking to her again when she gets back. I will definitely miss her company, shopping and choosing things for her. It's fun being a mom!
Also, follow me on my blogs at empty nesters. My blog site is http://youremptynest.com.

Hey Patty,

It's really nice to know someone with same experienced with me. I have a son going off to college and it's giving me a headache packing his things for his dorm room. Good you suggested Design your dorm, now it will be easier for my son to design his own room. He has all the independence to choose what he likes with all the choices you have at DYD.

Thanks for the help...
I have two boys (14 & 17). They will be starting high school and college in the fall. I told my oldest he can not move out until he is 18. I don't want him to put pressure on himself to more out and all that.
I do not look forward to my empty nest. I started blogging to focus on something new, just for me, to find the woman inside the wife and mother.
It seems as if all these sites are full of moms with young children. It gives me comfort to know I'm not alone.
I'll check out your blog.
