I was just curious as to how some bloggers are able to work with Hoover, be Kohlcraft Moms, or Evenflo Savvy Parents, etc. Does the company contact you or is there a form you are able to fill out? I've looked everywhere for answers to this, so hopefully someone can give me a little insight. Thanks so much!

Also awaiting an answer! There are some brands that I just <3 and would die to work with!
I think a lot of the ambassador contacts and partnerships with the big companies are forged at the annual BlogHer conference.

I'm usually contacted by PR reps that work directly with the companies.These PR reps are usually the ones that I've worked with many times before on previous campaigns and reviews.

 

However, I've also received Ambassadorships through sites like Mom Central, Team Mom, Double Duty Divas, Collective Bias, etc. where they put a call out to their members. You would then need to sign-up and be selected to participate. You may want to see if these sites are currently accepting new members. Good luck!

When I go to collective bias, where do I join - I do not see a place to sign up?

Business to Blogger http://business2blogger.com/  is another good one as well.  Sign up and every so often they send out emails of pr/companies that would like either a sponsored post or review and even some brand programs.
I believe it's on an invitation-only basis for now.

Yes, I've gotten some reviews from them and it's pretty easy.

You might want to sign up for Mom Central's blogroll at http://www.momcentral.com/for-bloggers. It's mostly one off reviews of products or services, but occasionally they're looking for brand ambassadors.

In my own experience as a brand ambassador for various brands as well as working on the PR side to orchestrate mom blogger campaigns for agencies I do consulting and strategy for, the best ops are definitely more likely to come your way if you don't wait for them to come to you. For sure, take advantage of the various communities that connect women bloggers with brands, as others have already commented about... most are free to join and they always seem to have at least a few projects going at any given moment. Attending and participating in blogging conferences at the local, regional, and national levels is a great way to be connected.

 

In addition, I'd suggest keeping an ongoing database of your own of PR reps and clients that you work with for your own blog for reviews, giveaways, and informational blogposts. Then stay in contact with the ones that interest you most so your name will be at the top of their list when they do have a project or program that would be perfect for you. You should also take that proactive strategy one step further by making a dream list of the brands you'd most like to work with. Read the trades that cover brands like Adweek, Ad Age, etc to look for new emerging brands, too. Then research all these via their websites and blogs and follow them on Twitter and Facebook to find out more about them and to figure out who and how to contact to proper staff person about participating in an existing program or in helping them create an ambassador program that you could also be a member of.

 

A community like Mom Bloggers Club is a great place to explore all the possibilities as well as to network with other moms that blog. Taking full advantage of these resources will maximize the chances for you to grow both personally and professionally in your pursuit of mom ambassadorships.

like other bloggers have mention usually an opportunity like a brand ambassador comes about when you've worked with a rep on several projects. 9/10 that's how I got my opportunities.

 

Other opportunities come from other program groups like they mentioned.
