Do you know about Facebook's new guidelines for running promotions?

Facebook recently released new guidelines about how promotions can be run on their site. This affects alot of bloggers who use their fan pages as a way to run a competition. No longer are you allowed to ask people to upload a photo or post to your wall for entry into a competition.

You can read the Official Facebook Guidelines here or head over to one of my blogs where I try to round up some of the points that matter to bloggers who try to run giveaways on Facebook.

Does it affect how you interact with your fans at the moment? What workarounds for competitions are you going to have to do?

Thanks for this information!
So we CAN announce it on Facebook just not host it on there? Am I understanding it right?
Yes, Crystal - from my understanding you can announce it on Facebook, but if you want to host it on Facebook you have to have it pre-authorized by a Facebook account manager
I just read them wow. You can't even say becoming a fan is an entry either.. LOTS of rules.
Thanks for the heads up - I've just started my facebook fan page, so I don't even know how this will affect me at all..
Thank you so much Ghada.
