I'm just wondering why it seems I'm getting many visitors from Google images. I use photos of books, some I have taken and some from Amazon.com.

How are the images titled? If they are titled in ways that will be picked up by Google you are likely to get hits.
For example something that's just titled IMG 1111 isn't going to generate much interest via Google's search engine but if it's titled Tomato Pesto Pasta then it's more likely to get picked up.
