getting rid of old blog with readers and starting a new one (question)

I have a quick question. I haven't been blogging very long, but I have a blog that was just about giveaways, mostly to other bloggers. I have 52 followers, but I have found this type of blogging so boring, there is no substance to it, just directing others to another blog's giveaway. I started a new blog, basically a mom blog with several topics that face women as wife and mothers; I don't have any followers yet as I just started, but I feel more comfortable doing this. My question is this, am I wrong to get rid of a blog with 52 followers and start with none? I would assume most of those readers were there simply to just find a giveaway and head off to other sites; I have so many experiences in my life (child with autism, having multiples, deployments) I feel that I would atleast enjoy it more even if only 1 or 2 read it.

I think you're on the right track and doing the right thing!  I would put a farewell post on your old blog directing your followers to your new blog.  This will at least start them off knowing where you are, and if they want to become readers, not just followers, they'll come along.  You'll find followers, but hopefully you'll find readers, those who are interested in what you share in your blog and who stick around.

Good luck!!
