Having Multiple Blogs

I have been treating my blog, Evolving Mommy, as a sort of catch all blog where I post everything, reviews recipies, daily events, funny stories, etc. But I have been toying with the idea of starting another blog to house some of the more "specialized" stuff like reviews for instance.

Would you suggest keeping the blogs tied together in theme/name or would you suggest starting something completely different?

I think it would be better to have a separate blogs to cater to your different interest for instance I keep a personal online diary on http://cafemom.i.ph where I talk about anything under the sun but then I got interested in scrapbooking so I created another blog for that hobby of mine at http://brewedideas.blogspot.com. I kept another blog for my poetry at http://coffebreakstories and an online writing portfolio at wordpress. So I should say go for it! And who knows one of your blogs might earn you money also.

I like how Jen's two blogs tie together. I think something like that would work well. Similar font, colors, etc., and a cute name that is similar yet different.

I have four different blogs as I didn't want to have everything all jumbled into one. To me it would just seem like I'm all over the place.

I think separate blogs are GREAT if you can keep up with them. I have 2 blogs: My Vida Mocha and MySk Whispers. The first is more for women and is my most recent. The second is for teens and women. It helps to be able to express certain ideas with multiple blogs. I would say Go For It!!!!

It is good to hear that you haven't had trouble keeping up with them all. Keeping up with multiple blogs is something that I worry about.

I have four blogs and am glad to have each separate. It was just TOO MUCH for one blog.

This is where I am at. I have my SAHM blog, but I also want to start a blog for where I live because there is nothing on the web for Sammamish. They wouldn't be related at all, except for th few SAHM's that live in Sammamish. So I wouldn't be cross-promoting. I'm really glad to have read this thread though. It's given me food for thought.
