Help with layout!

Hey everyone!  I am in need of some help!  I recently took a one month break from the internet world and have returned.  I've decided to go ahead and buy my own .com and I'd also like to change the layout.  I'm trying to figure out how to get a pretty header, you know where the title goes first?  I'd like that the best.  I'm trying to get better at this blogging and have done a couple of different giveaways but am looking to do more reviews/giveaways!  I'd like to eventually attend a blogging conference!
