I hope this isn't a verboten question. I'm just wondering what the average is.
I'm pretty new - not yet four weeks, but I guess I've been averaging over 100 per day.

Wow. I thought Google integrated with everything. That's such a bummer. It's amazing how they say these website content managers are "free" yet you have to "upgrade" to get all the features. Joomla is even worse. I tried using it at first, but had to pay to get all these features, and I have my website on my own domain too!
I know. I guess if you self-host on wordpress you can have it, but not on the free site. Since I only barely figured out how to pop in links there's no way in hell I'm going to attempt to self-host :D
This week was low due to holidays, averaged 400 views a day, but I usually can get as high as 2,500 daily. There are about a dozen things that influence this:
1. constantly adding content - I post on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday.
2. good post titles that search engines seek
3. well tagged posts
4. photo files with real words, not numbers
5. beautiful photos - and I mean, stunning, mouthwatering, gorgeous food photos (I am not saying MINE are that, but it is a standard of excellence that I constantly strive for)
6. other bloggers linking to your posts - rarely via blogroll listings (my site is at the end of the alphabet, so Worth The Whisk is often lost in a long blogroll - 'tho I greatly appreciate the love, believe me. Better to have excellent content that other bloggers want to share with their readers.
7. submitting beautiful photos onto food porn sites, and getting accepted (some days are easier than others!)
8. understanding CSS coding for search engine crawls to constantly fix things you learn might be a problem
9. writing guest posts for other bloggers -- anybody want one? I am happy to write!
10. marketing! Fridays, I send out my newsetter. But I also know that stepping away from the computer and having face-time with people who like blogs. Speeches, events, conferences. Building a community because they like you as a person.

I'm also sharing this info on upcoming Camp Blogaway Bootcamp for Food and Recipe Bloggers, because (full disclosure), I am the organizer and our itinerary is jam-packed with ways to build your blog quality and traffic.

Happy Holidays everyone, Patti
Hmm, a dozen, eh? You only listed ten...and seeing as you cook I'm going to bet you started w/ 13 (a baker's dozen). I guess the other three were too yummy to share? ;)

(this is where I really hope people have a good sense of humour and know I'm kidding).

I do constantly add content (at least once a day), my post titles are uh, interesting?,,,,,,I tag the shit out of everything,,,,,,,,,,,,,, I haven't used any pics yet,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, no one in their right mind would link to me,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, isn't CSS a place that takes your kids from you?,,,,,,,,,,,,,, no one in their right mind would want me to write for them,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, and, I "market" on FB but I'm pretty sure everyone I know has my ass blocked.
:D
how do you get up to 100 a day? mine is very small. need help. katie
You crack me up, Sue.
Oh boy, I'm going to get more therapy bills from people I've never met now, aren't I?
;)

(I'm glad someone thinks I'm funny)
I don't get more than 70 a day. Somedays much much less. I don't think I know how to tag.
yeah, i average probably around 75-100 depending on the day. wish i could average about 150, but not quite.
Thanks so much for posting this question! I've had my blog for quite a while now and I don't have anywhere NEAR the following you have, Sue, let alone even dreamed of reaching Patti's level! I'm sure learning a lot. Thanks again for the question and to everyone who has replied. :o)
Holly, you're obviously a great writer....maybe just add more boobs? ;)

(I loved the story of Cute Girl) :D
