I just sort of jumped in after entering other people's giveaways for a little while. I started off with a gift card which I paid for out of pocket, just to get the ball rolling. I have found that if you put together a thoughtful pitch, many small businesses/etsy owners will consider working with you since it's mutually beneficial.

Good luck!
I haven't been at this very long but one place that I work with is myblogspark

I have had a couple of places approach me for my cooking blog because they have come across my blog or I posted something to their facebook page. On some company websites their will be an email to contact.

Another way is to scroll down on a giveaway blog and look at the buttons they have and then join the pr communities they belong to.

I hope that helps a bit. I am still learning myself and trying to get my blog out there.

I was wondering the same thing.I'm not sure how others get tons fof giveaways at the same time.

I have been able to get a few giveaways though. I agree with Rachel that MyBlogSpark is a good one. I'm having my first giveaway with them this month. It takes a few weeks to get you an opportunity. I also recently signed up with Mom Spark Media and have gotten my first giveaway with them too. This PR company costs $5/mo or $40 a year but is a good investment. In addition to giveaway opportunities they give blogging "courses."
Check out my post with information on how to become a review blogger - you'll be able to get started before the end of the day! It takes a while to build up a good review blog, but with these simple starting steps you'll be on your way. Add a little perseverance and patience, and you'll be a giveaway and review blogger in no time. :-)

Joanna- your post helped so much. Thank you. I have a question for you, that I am emailing your way. Please be on the look out for it from meandlittleman@gmail.com. Thank you so much!
1. Start reviewing things you already love around your house.
2. Once your blog is established and you've build an archive, put together a media kit. (Search MBC for great tips on this.)
3. Contact companies you'd love to work with with a pitch on what makes your review blog unique and why you'd like to partner with them.
4. Look for contacts right on their webpage...connect with companies via FB and Twitter...look for PR contacts in press releases from companies you're interested in working with.

Good luck!
Hey I was just going to say all of the same things you did so I think you covered everything!
Also look for companies by visiting review websites. The reviews will each have the link to
the company website right in that review somewhere. that link lets you know this company has
worked with reviewers in the past so may be willing to work with another blogger in the future.
It works the same way for giveaways. I would never pay a monthly fee as someone said they did above
to join for review items. These are all available for free there is no reason to pay for it.
Contact the companies directly.
Agree with this. My blog is finally getting big enough where I can get opportunities from PR leads and marketing websites, but my first giveaways were mostly from me being proactive and just emailing the companies. I usually look for their media relations person under the contact info.

You need to match the company to the size of your blog - an independent etsy owner is probably willing to work with you, but the big name companies are usually looking for well established blogs who pull in big numbers.
