I want to start a group magazine style blog - any advice?

Hi all -
I'm thinking about starting a new blog - more of a group site (possibly) but definitely more geared towards providing info - crafts, recipes, advice, etc., as opposed to sharing my daily life and stories.
Has anyone done this? Any tips on what worked, or didn't?

Hello -
No, I want to create a free site, but with many contributors, regular and sporadic. Topics geared to moms, kids, families, etc. I'd like to featured a broad range of posts/subjects, as well as how-to's, recipes, etc. I figure I can write a lot of the posts, but ask for guest posters in many areas, as well as have regular writers.
I'll check out that link - thank you!
