Liquid Dilemma

I have a son who is turning 1 year old and he doesn't want to drink water or juice. He just wants to breastfeed. I would really like to get him to drink some fluids! He doesn't even want to take breastmilk from a bottle. I've tried everything, like water in a bottle, sippy cup, regular cup, with a straw, but nothing. He will maybe take a sip and then stare at me like its the worst drink on earth, obviously he doesn't want it. I've also tried different kinds of flavored juices and yes, I've tried all these things including warming it up or making it cold. But nothing is working! please I need your help! Thanks...

After he turned one, I finally started giving him soy milk in a sippy cup and he loved it (ok, it took a few times, but now he adores it - he's 15 months). Once he was turned on to the soy milk, he moved on to liking water, too. I also lessened the frequency of nursing, which I think made him thirstier. Good luck!; ▶ Reply to This
