.... and encouraging Pregnant women to participate in the 23andMe 40 Weeks Pregnancy Surveys.
**************************************************

Dear Parents,

As many of you might have experienced, there are a lot of unknowns about pregnancy. Why do some women develop gestational diabetes and others develop pre-eclampsia? Why are some women nauseous the whole nine months and others sail through pregnancy? 23andMe hopes to find out! 23andMe, the personal genetics company based in Mountain View, is launching a pregnancy community and research initiative this Tuesday with the goal connecting pregnant women together and making research discoveries about pregnancy.

The community is for women who currently are pregnant or who have been pregnant. There are weekly surveys for women who are pregnant and four surveys for women who have been pregnant: past pregnancy, gestational diabetes, pre-eclampsia and old wives tales.

When you take a survey you will learn how your answers compare to other women. Your answers are saved, so as time passes you'll have a detailed record that can be useful during this pregnancy or in future ones. Your answers will also help us make research discoveries as we are able to look at the aggregate data and identify trends.

THIS IS FREE!

We are inviting you to join early to help us seed the community. To join:

--Visit http://www.23andme.com/pregnancy and follow the instructions to 'join for free' and set up a demo account.

--If you have already been genotyped and have an account, log in to your account and go to: http://www.23andme.com/you/pregnancy

Regardless of where you are in your pregnancy, your input will be extremely helpful.
