Putting polls on your blog

Okay, so I am new to blogging...I only have 4-5 posts so far but I am wondering if I should add a poll to the sidebar to get the people who do visit my blog some options for topics or do you think this will just clutter up my blog page?? Does anyone have polls on their blogs and if so do they help???? Thanks!!

I put up a poll each week and I don't think people pay much attention to it...but I have a lot going on my blog. I don't think I ask very exciting things in the poll...so that could be why.
