Everybody has a dream to buy a house for their own and design it as per their choice which pleases them as well their loved ones. Whether it is an apartment, two storeyed villa or tenement people always are keen to design it and make it more attractive and…
My 21 month old son loves storytime...until the first five minutes, and then he runs to the door and keeps saying 'go.'
He's not shy around people in small groups, and he's an only child, so he doesn't interact with kids much. But in small groups he's very outgoing.
The other thing is, he has a phobic reaction to cheering crowds, groups or loud buzzers, like basketball buzzers. He gets all pouty-faced and then starts crying when people clap in applause.
I know he needs more opportunities to socialize, which is why I take him to story time in the first place. But I'm wondering if you guys went through anything similar, or if you had some advice on how I can make him enjoy story time more?
We went through this in the Fall when he started going. It took him several weeks to get comfortable, and then we had a break for the holidays. He would always run eagerly to the story time room when we went to the library. And still does, but then he wants to leave right away.
He didn't cry last week at the group, but he did want to leave. So, any advice is appreciated. Thanks!
It may pass. My son was the same way. He's four and a half now and can handle a lot more. Perhaps a social activity that doesn't require sitting still and being quiet would be a better fit for him. He's still awfully small to practice a lot of self control.
