I have had an account with StatCounter since I started my website (MeasuringFlower.com). About two months ago, I also added SiteMeter just to compare the two. So far, StatCounter says that I have more visitors and views per month than SiteMeter does. Which confuses me. I have both sites set so that it does not pick up my own visits.

Plus, I was wondering if I should upgrade on one or the other of these sites (SiteMeter is cheaper, but I like what the stats say on StatCounter better obviously!). My husband says that once I start getting companies to buy advertisement slots I might need to upgrade to let them know how many people are going to their site from mine. On the other hand, why would I need to tell them this as they should have their own account of this nature that tells them where visitors are coming from. What's then is the point of upgrading it?

Thanks for any help!

You might want to try Google Analytics. It's free and gives you a bunch of data on who's coming to your site, how they found you via search, etc. Many people consider them the "gold standard" when it comes to stats.
