Spank.
I was spanked when I was growing up and I turned out just fine, and I don't think my parents abused me. I believe if your child is disobeying and giving them warnings, talking to them on eye level explaining to them what was done wrong, redirecting behavior, or any other technique has not worked - then a spanking is in order.
There is a fine line between spanking and abusing, but just a few spanks never hurt anyone.
