Hey ladies...do any of you vlog?  I'm tempted to start vlogging some...but am terrified of trolls and hurtful comments.  I'd love some tips on how to deal with mean people and build confidence on camera.  Thanks in advance!!!

Hi Nikki, that is a very timely topic!!  We invited Carolyn O'Neil from the Alton Brown "Good Eats" show to present Vlogging at the Camp Blogaway April 29-May 1 (I am the producer of Camp). There are some good vloggers out there and some pretty unfortunate ones. Carolyn's tips will be really valuable.
I am actually committing to vlogging for an entire year. I will upload a new vlog every day. :) I organized a blogging event for the month of March with Jendi called March Vlogging Madness and we have some awesome women participating. You can also check out Jendi's website Simple Vlogging Tips for LOTS of tips on how to vlog.

Thanks to Shynea for sharing my site link! It's been fun co-hosting March Vlogging Madness with her.

I've been vlogging since spring 2008 and I'm totally addicted.

There is a sister site to this one - http://momvloggers.ning.com/ It's not as active as this one, but it will let you connect with other vloggers.

The confidence on camera comes from practice. You can practice in front of a mirror and then record. Start with short videos - 1 minute or less - so you don't get overloaded with the technical side and you gain confidence on screen. It also helps to talk about something you love or something you really want to tell people.

Happy Vlogging!

Thanks ladies for the great advice and links!!!

I love to vlog! It's a great creative outlet for me. My advice is to just go for it. Who cares if you make a mistake. You'll learn as you go. It's all about stepping outside the box and taking risks. Feel free to check out any of my videos.

By the way, I use a Flip video camera. It's awesome. Very light weight. Versatile. Takes great video/audio.

Good luck!

No way, lol! I look TERRIBLE on camera! But I wish you the best of luck if you decide to do it!

Thanks guys!!!  I've been working on vlogging and trying to get comfortable in front of the camera.  Here is a link to my second vlog : )  (My first one was a rambling mess...ha! ) It was pretty easy once I got the hang of it.  I have a flip as well...I just have to get the editing down.  Here is the vlog... http://nikkipullen.blogspot.com/

Thanks for all the help and encouragement ...you ladies ROCK!!!
