I ask - bc - I backed up once when I started...but someone over the weekend noted that the content isn't back-up by me...

it makes me nervous bc I like what I've blogged in past.
You save everything in word? That must be a big file.
Wash your mouth out with soap! I haven't thought about it till you mentioned it - perhaps I should though!!
You can download a copy of your blog in settings. SETTINGS-BASIC-EXPORT-DOWNLOAD BLOG

It doesn't delete your blog or do anything weird.

Hope this helps!
Awesome! I didn't know you could do that. Just did it myself. That's very valuable. Thanks Amy!
No problem!
I'm so glad you asked and I'm even more glad that Amy had the answer! I've been blogging for a year and a half now and the thought of losing all those memories makes me very nervous!
I noticed that "export blog" function on blogger just this past weekend but never thought about using it...unti now!! I can't imagine what I would do if something happened to Blogger and I lost ALL my content {shudder} .

I'll be using that export function this week!
The export function is a new feature. I'm so glad it's there!

Glad I could help, too. :)
Oh my goodness, don't talk like that! LOL There's a way to export? *checking now*
I have a friend with a very popular financial blog on Blogger. Somehow she got locked out of her own blog, Google wouldn't let her back into it, and they eventually took it down. Luckily she had her content saved in Word files already. She ended up switching to a self-hosted WordPress blog.

I've heard of this happening to others as well, so I tell people to back up your content (at least) and to used paid services like a self-hosted WP blog or TypePad. If you're paying for a service, you have more pull and an expectation of customer service to fix whatever goes wrong with your blog. But as we all know, servers go down or get corrupted, so back up!!
