I'm still a fairly new mother, my daughter is only 8 months old. We have gotten her on a pretty solid routine of going to bed sometime around 7-8pm. There are some instances when she doesn't conk out until 10pm but I'm hoping we can keep this bedtime for her pretty solid for several years down the road.

Wow 11 is late!
My 11 month old goes to bed at 6, and my 2.5 yr old goes to bed at 7.

That's so cool! How did you manage to put them on bed so early at such a young age? Are they able to sleep through the night?

Well I guess it wasn't intentional, it just kind of happened with my first so I made my second son follow through on the same schedule. Mind you they start their day at 6 am, and dont get to nap any later than 2pm. One always sleeps through the night, the younger one is touch and go because of reflux.

wow! My kids (ages 2 and 8) go to bed between 8:00-8:30 and sometimes 9 if we feel like it. I think it's just one of those things you have to be pretty consistent about. I can't imagine my kids not going to bed until 11. They both sleep great and I get a few hours of me time before I head to bed.

wow 11pm is really late. 18th month old and 2year old are in bed for 6pm sometimes 5:30pm if they're really tired. 3year old goes to bed for 6:30pm and 11week old is also in bed for 7pm. i hate watching them get over tired, i'd rather them go to bed early and let them read or play in their rooms so they go to sleep when they're ready with no fuss.

Same here. Mine (she'll be two at the end of the month) and she goes to bed between 9:30 - 10:30. I know it's late. When I was growing up, we were in bed no later than 8:30.

Good for you I think kids need a bedtime. My daughter is nine and still goes to be at 8pm. (she needs lots of sleep and always has or she is cranky) My sons on the other hand are eleven and I give them a 9pm bedtime. However, they mess around and run back and fourth to the restroom but are out by 9:30 or 10pm.

Wow! My son is 11 months old and he naturally falls asleep between 7:30 and 8:30pm... only on very few occasions has he had to sleep later than that!

Oh wow! That is really late for a baby/child.

My Son is 17 monthes & is in bed by 8PM & usually dreaming by 8:15 PM.

I feel it is extremely important to set a schedual for your baby & keeping to it.

after the struggle my daughter who is 3 1/2 is asleep by 8:30 ... sometimes 9;00 if she is really fightning bedtime. Ahhh, ages and stages (right now is a I hate bedtime stage... she cries, asks for a drink, tells me she is hungry anything and everything to stay up)

I agree that 11pm is pretty late, especially for little ones. I have two teenagers (13 YO) and one 12 YO - all boys. Their bedtime on school nights is 8:30pm. They hate it and always complain that their friends get to stay up later but we do it anyway. They have to get up by 6:30am for school so that's about 10 hours of sleep and they say teens and toddlers need between 10-12. Even going to bed at 8:30pm, they are STILL hard to get up in the morning. Kids and teenagers need more sleep than most people realize. Stay strong - you know best how much sleep your kids need.
