WordPress Blog

Hi,

I'm in the process of building a new website, driven through WordPress but I'm not the most technically savvy. I want this new site to host my blog, currently at Blogger, as well as some of my other writing projects. I've managed to migrate over the posts from my blog but am a bit confused about how to add applications, photos etc as well as multiple pages through the WordPress dashboard. It doesn't seem very user friendly but it's also all new to me. I know there are tutorials out there to be found and read but wonder if anyone else has recently built a WordPress site and can give me some starting out pointers!
