I am starting a Blog and now have found some new information in my search that has led me to a question.
If I use wordpress.org do I need another host? i.e. Hostgator, Bluhost, etc

Also, If I use wordpress.org can I monetize my Blog? i.e. AdSense, affiliates, etc

I am still learning about monetizing my Blog, BTW- so if there are any limitations with wordpress or Hostgator can someone who is familiar please let me know what they are?

Thx for any help.

i use bluehost

yes with wordpress.org, you can monetize your blog...

wordpress.org has no limitation except the cost of setting it up.

it costs me 84$/year for hosting through blue host!
Thx - Now if I am using wordpress do I also need Hostgator? Are the two a separate function or are they the same thing?
I am starting to get confused.
In other words I don't want to pay for hosting twice. If I choose Hostgator as my Host do I still have to pay for wordpress to use as well?
Thx- I hope I am not confusing everyone by my question.
wordpress.org is free
it is the hosting that costs..
wordpress.org do not host the blog, they provide the world class publishing platform.

to simplify

wordpress.org = pulishing platform
hosting service = you choose which bluehost or dreamhost or anyone else

here is the list of hosts available

http://wordpress.org/hosting/

you can choose any one..

Drop me an email, if you need any help.
I can help you to set it up...no problems....except probably yap on my blog about it!!
Thx a lot! I am still pulling in info but I believe I am about to make the move- I appreciate the help. & yes, I have been reading all tuts and info at wordpress.org also. I just feel it will be the best for what capabilities I want over Blogger or WP.com-
I will definitely drop ya a line if i need help on set up. I have tuts on about everything now and I am more than ready to get started. My book is full of handwritten everything... I need to "publish" now- Thx again.
