With the Christmas season well underway I thought it might be neat to see some ideas for presents for boys. What are some gifts you're looking for this year? Maybe some gifts years past that were a big hit that you would recommend for other moms who might have a boy in that age group. My boys are 11, 8, and 5 so I'm especially interested to see what other moms with boys the same age as mine are getting their kids.

I don't know if your 11-year-old is a reader, but I just discovered the Alex Rider series of books by Anthony Horowitz. The main character appears to be a sort of Cody Banks type character and there is a lot of action. Actually, if your son doesn't like to read, but likes to have you read to him, you could still get the books for bedtime storytimes.

And for your younger boys, the things that I recall my son loving the most were anything involving a ball and/or a stick; also any form of weaponry. ;-) Merry Christmas!
