It's funny, but our boy was the youngest of our three kids, and the only boy. The two girls gave us far more problems than our boy. Though I have neighbors and friends who shed far more tears over their boy's doings than they did over their daughters'. I guess it all depends on who got the calm and sensible genes, and who got the wild and woolly ones.

My son was a reluctant reader. I could not get him to read. He loved being read too - but reading for himself, no way! That's when I

began writing books with boys and reluctant readers in mind. The secret seems to be finding books that write about topics these little macho guys are interested in - sports, cars, superheroes, rockets, dinosaurs etc. Once you give them books that have fun, adventure, and humor involving something they are really interested in, boys read up a storm.

Hi, I'm a Mother of a boy and girl. My son is older and 3years old. Boys certainly keep you on your toys. I had a wonderful moment last night with my son and have posted it to my blog Please feel free to swing by and take a look. Hope everyone is having a good day. It's snowing here!

I had a reluctant reader son, and ended up writing books for boys and other reluctant readers.. Just thought you might like to check the Mommy Reviewers for, "Children's Books that Encourage Kids to Read" + REVIEWS!
