Hi -

For all those of you who wonder how to share your fiction with the world in this difficult publishing environment, I've come up with a fun and exciting model great for bloggers.

Recently I launched my debut novel, Veronica's Nap.... on a blog!  The blog also offers book-club-style conversation about related issues such as the characters, their conflicts (close to the hearts of many moms), the writing life, the publishing industry, and much more.

The story: A young mother and aspiring artist living in the south of France has to find a way to break out of the rut of procrastinating and indulging in naps while a nanny watches her two-year-old twins.

Stop by and join the conversation!  http://www.veronicas-nap.com

Interesting way to publish! :-)
I've heard some writers have attracted the eyes of editors this way. Good luck!
Sharon, aren't you afraid publishers you would like to accept your book, will now consider it already published? Most of them shy away from books that are put on websites or blogs. Of course it won't stop you self-publishing at some future date. I wish you luck, mate. Have you had many readers?

Sharon, I think you will find that mos traditional publishers want first crack at publication, and include all forms of publication in their contract. Occasionally, if a book really takes off by word of mouth, one of the larger houses might offer you a contract, but you rarely hear of this happening. Of course self-publishing is different, and you can make your own rules. However I wish you every success, and I love what you are doing on your blog to promote your book.

First, thanks so much for this great conversation and for checking out my blog.

Whatever the case may be with publishers, I'm not necessarily interested in traditional publication! I really just want to share my work, and am having fund doing it with my blog. The way I look at it, in this crazy age for publishing writers need to redefine the word success, and if I'm having fun and happy as a writer, and if it's a nice complement to the rest of my busy working-mom life, that's enough success for me.

Here's a post I did on that topic. http://veronicas-nap.com/backstory/are-we-having-fun-yet/

All my best,

Sharon
