Debra, the workshop you took sounds wonderful. You can learn a lot by networking at a workshop.

Demika, yours are books boys love - the title HOOKS them every time, and the fun keeps them reading.  Congratulations, mate.

CJ, your daughter is one lucky child.  A loving family is a solid foundation for a great and happy adult life.

If anyone wants to brush up on their writing or self-editing skills my

I recently posted on Killing Superwoman  when I told my daughter the story of when she was born.  This is a very special post to me - so I hope you will stop by and comment.

Charm, congratulations. Best wishes for finding it a home! And, I agree with Margot about finding a critique group. It's really important to be a part of a good critique group.

Thanks girls, I will be more excited when I see it progressing forward. The tenative title is The ABC's of Cancer According to Lilly Isabella Lane. But that could change I am sure once the publisher makes a decision.

Charm, there are no vacancies in my group.  We have all been together for years. Finding a good crit group means networking on a writing list that is all about the particular genre you write for.  Or joining SCBWI, going to their conferences, and listening to editor and agent words of wisdom - as well as meeting and chatting with other writers.  Some might even possibly need a critique partner as well!!

Childrens Writers and Illustrators is a great place to ask questions and find a critique group that fits you:

However, make sure you join a group that has a number of advanced or published writers whose brains you can pick.  Otherwise it can be the blind leading the blind.
