Congratulations, Swati! How exciting! I don't think I'd get much writing done, either.

Also been MIA - moved back to NYC and finally coming up for air. Just posted a confession on the guilt of wanting to go back to work...

Good Morning! Just posted a new blog entry on my site. My oldest daughter is leaving for college and maybe some of you can relate. If not, you soon will!!! It all happens so fast.

Hi Everyone: I have been MIA for a bit - i got engaged :-D and am thoroughly enjoying myself (my post http://tiny.cc/8x6wh speaks of it with complete sappiness). Now that my daughter is back in school and a few other things have settled, I am returning to the bloggy-world. Off to see what you've been up to now!

Do back to school supplies get you excited to write? I can't resist a brand-new legal pad and pen. I blogged about using the "new year" to motivate your writing.

Great links, Linda! I posted a comment.

Alysia- for the short story, check out Duotrope's Digest. It's a database of all kinds of mags (online & print) that accept stories & poems. Some pay, some don't, but they're color-coded by amount. It's a great resource.

Two sites with great information:

The Bottom Line shares pertinent information from critically acclaimed author Robert W. Walker. Find out why he left the big publishing conglomerates to become an indie author, what he believes the big six publishers are doing wrong, advice to aspiring authors and more.

1st Turning Point says about themselves that they are "a fun place for writers to teach, share, and learn about that first turning point in your career—self-promotion and marketing."

I talk a little about them and some useful links to their site on my Beyond The Last Page Blog
