Thanks Jillian- I don't know how I miss these things sometimes.

Richele - Hang in there. It's a tough situation for sure. Good luck!

Peryl - I really like your posts. So familiar and entertaining. I look forward to continuing to follow.

Congratulations, Lori! So happy you are living a dream!

I've been so busy writing unit studies. I know that's not exactly books...but I am taking a break from writing my book. I submitted a manuscript for a children's book that is being looked at now. It's really a story my mother used to tell. I wrote it in tribute to her...I gave her credit..however she feels I did not credit her enough. It's a long story. At any rate, I am actually hoping the whole thing falls through. I am very disillusioned. I am considering just telling the editor not to read it. This has been hard so I am backing off for a bit. My mom is great...she is not being a jerk. I just underestimated how emotionally attached she was to her story. I thought I was doing something nice...she took it as me taking over..and running with her idea. An idea she never wrote for 30 years and actually told me to wrote..but regrets it now. I think it sounded good at the time but her emotional attachement and the prospect of editing and changing is not her cup of tea. I don't even want to deal with it.

Okay, I am rambling. I was thinking of sharing the whole sorted story because I need real advice. I will do that when I have a minute tonight or tomorrow.

Hi Jillian -

Thanks for the comment on my post. Do you have a place directly on your blog to comment? I know you will love having a dog. My reservation has always been knowing that I would be the only one doing the work. Since my husband really doesn't want a dog, I wouldn't feel right asking him to help out and my girlies are well intentioned but not quite up to the task. Anyway, enjoy your new furry friend when she arrives. Such an exciting time. Beth

Congratulations Lori! How exciting that you are on the promotional campaign for your book. I will try and listen tonight.

Meagan, I couldn't relate more to your post on control. Sometimes, I just want to not care about the rules but if I slip for a second than it is all over.

Swati - I woke up in the middle of the night thinking of you and smiled because what woke me was the thought that your writing seems to have become much more descriptive since the first post that I read. Is that true?

Anyway, keep up the good writing everyone and try to enjoy your spring "break".

I forgot to mention that the freelance online magazine, Examiner.com, has a referral program, so don't forget to mention my name in the referral section of the application.

I hope to see you all over there!

Hi Jillian-

I really enjoyed your recent posts, especially that of Not Giving into Stress and Anxiety. It seems as soon as opportunity presents itself, I so quickly start to second guess myself. I know I am not alone, but it would be great to move beyond the uncertainty and realize that the opportunities are there because we are all good writers in the first.place. Blogging has been a great way to write for myself without reservation. Reading all of your blogs helps fuel the desire to keep going. So thank you. Beth

Lola,

Great post. I left you an extended message over at your website but wanted to say that I appreciated your affection for your husband!

Lola,
I just read your favorite post, and oh, I could have been sitting right next to you at that restaurant. I dread taking the kids out to eat because they do the same sorts of things, and I too, usually avoid eye contact. How lucky that you had that conversation. I hope I can take that to heart as well and enjoy my children now while I can. Thanks for sharing!
