Charm, there are no vacancies in my group.  We have all been together for years. Finding a good crit group means networking on a writing list that is all about the particular genre you write for.  Or joining SCBWI, going to their conferences, and listening to editor and agent words of wisdom - as well as meeting and chatting with other writers.  Some might even possibly need a critique partner as well!!

Childrens Writers and Illustrators is a great place to ask questions and find a critique group that fits you:

However, make sure you join a group that has a number of advanced or published writers whose brains you can pick.  Otherwise it can be the blind leading the blind.

Finally got the signed book contract with a traditional publisher and now they have 24 months to get it out there.....ugh. Still feeling lucky and hopefully it will go smooth. At the end of the two years it is mine again so I guess it is a win win.

Congratulations to those who have succeeded in the publishing world, It is not for the faint of heart.

Hi Margot

Young adults. Wow can you recommend a critique group to me?

Thx.

Charm, congratulations on your book.  What age are you writing it for?

Are you in a good critique group?   I have been in my online crit group for years (11 books published now) and I could never have done it without their insights, feedback and support.

I'm currently writing a book and I'm on Chapter Seven...almost complete. My goal is to have it done by Christmas. It's sci-fi and it has a very interesting storyline. I can't wait until I'm done with it so I could start sending it to publishing companies.
