Rachel if the quality of your rejections are improving, that means the quality of your writing is also improving.  I suspect you won't have to wait for 122 more rejections before you hit the jackpot.  Good luck, mate.

My daughter Stephanie has always had a love for writing, and I am so excited to announce that her first book is now available...You can get more information about her book and view her promo video on my blog. http://avirtuousheart.blogspot.com/2011/08/sooo-excited.htm

Thanks Karen...I guess I have 122 more rejections to go...it's actually harder sometimes to get a publisher's interest and then to be rejected...but at least it proves that the writing is worthy...my rejection letters have definitely improved over the years from standard form letters, to letters with comments.  I take what I can get!!!  A good rejection at least means someone took the time to critique it!  Thanks again for your words of encouragment....truly helpful.

Thanks a bunch Karen.  You are always so kind.  I hoped my link to a sample chapter from "Taconi and Claude"  ( a few posts below this), would give readers a feel for the fun and excitement of this outback Aussie adventure.

WOW!  Chicken soup for the Soul was rejected 144 times? That's what I call staying power.  Karen is right, Rachel.  Keep polishing and reworking that MS, and you WILL eventually find a publisher that loves it.  Rejections are a kinda way to pay your dues.  It's just some pay more than others.

LOL Sounds familiar. Don't give up on the children's book though. Chicken Soup for the Soul was rejected 144 times before a publisher accepted it. It happens in all genres. There are always other publishers. I can see the chick lit working though.

Karen..thank you again.  I have taken some tips from your website, it's been very helpful.  I wrote a children's book as well (came very close to publishing, but alas after editing 3x for the publisher, they decided not to use it...sigh).  Now working on a chick lit book, I am very new to this genre but the voice is very similar to that of the blog...again, thanks for your encouragement and the tweet!!!!

Rachel, I visited your blog and can see why you were chosen. Your blog is interesting, warm, and funny.

I tweeted your 8/13 post.

Karen...thank you so much for your congrats.  Funny, I don't really know a lot about blogging, I still can't figure out the whole blog hop thing...and yet somehow I have my picture (albeit a small thumbnail shot) in a magazine regardig blogging.
