Hello guys, its been a long time.  I have had pneumonia (among other things), and I finally am back in the swing of things.  Please stop by my post where I talk about being in the doldrums while recovering.

I miss you guys and will be reading frantically to catch-up.

If you've ever considered writing a historical novel for children, head over to my blog to listen to a free audio class offered by children's writing coach Suzanne Lieurance.

A friend just sent me this email about a writing opportunity. It's for 40ish women who have never had a mammogram:

"My First Mammogram" is the name of a story slated for the next issue of About Health.

Of course, I could ask any writer to create a fictional account, but if possible, I'd prefer to get a real first-time mammogram-goer to share her genuine reactions to the experience. Do you know of any writers (would be in the 40-year-old range) who are about to have their first mammogram in the next month or so, and wouldn't mind sharing their honest expectations and experiences for the benefit of others?

About Health is a syndicated publication created by McMurry and produced for hospital clients throughout the U.S. and Canada. With an optimistic/informative tone, About Health's content empowers readers to make lifestyle changes to ultimately reduce their risk for various conditions.

I am looking to assign the story this week and it would be due Jan. 10. However, I could arrange some flexibility for the right situation.

Please let me know if you know of anyone who might be interested!
Kathryn
