Hi! A newbie here. I've been CD for a little over a year now. We had twins and a 15 month old when we started ~ 3 in diapers was just too much money. I still use disposables at night and when we go out, I just can't seem to get the cloth to last more than an hour or so without leaking. We use the Bummis SWW and prefolds.

Sorry my last comment was SO off topic from the actual question...
We just started the cloth diaper adventure and so far we use all Bum Genius & love them! I'm actually "bummed" that I didn't use cloth with my older two!

I use the re-usable swim diapers with my kids and appreciate them. However, at the community pools they typically won't allow them. They insist on the disposable kind...although I'm sure they really don't catch a think;)
Does anyone have suggestions on a great solution for homemade spray of some type to use with cloth wipes?

I have ordered the MotherEase one size cloth diapers, but they go waaaaay over our 12 day old's umbilical cord, so until it falls off, we are using Seventh Generation sposies. Washing wipes everyday has me all psyched to start using our CDs :)

Hi Amy- We had our cloth diapers when she came home from the hospital (including some Bum Genius one size), but they were soooo big on her at first (and she was over 9lbs!). So we decided to wait to do cloth until she was about 5 or 6 weeks. But, I know a lot of people will still put their newbies in cloth even if they're big -as long as they hold the icky stuff, probably doesn't matter how big they look, right? You could also opt for some prefolds and covers, which, I think you can get to fit newborns a little better (someone else will probably know). :) Congrats on your baby!!

Hi all-- I'm expecting a baby in about a month and planning to use cloth diapers so I'm eager to read all your suggestions. I'm leaning toward Bum Genius 3.0 one size. Did you start with cloth from newborn stage or wait a bit? Even the smallest setting seems big for a newborn (of course who knows how big he'll be!)

I have used a couple different types of swim diapers and I love the ones you can get at Target or Babies R Us. They are a great price and work fantastic!

Morgan- that's a great tip- I did not know that! Definately will be doing that this summer.

Did you know that you can re-use disposable swim diapers as long as they don't get poopy? You just throw them in the washing machine. They last for a few times before falling apart.
