Hi everyone!  I have a relatively new blog called Sofia's Ideas.  I've been writing about Simplicity, Frugality, Frivolity... all with an Eco-Mentality for a few months but have only recently begun sharing my blog with others.  Blogging stretches me way out of my comfort zone! My hope is that having some friendly faces in my sidebar will help me feel more at ease and more confident in this new endeavour.

I look forward to connecting with other moms who share my interests & passions.  I hope to see some of you in my Google Friend Connect widget soon!  AND Reciprocity is Guaranteed - I'm good like that!  :)

I just did this and then realized that if you follow from the pic on sidebar it will be to the old blog.... i think the new address is http://www.goinggreenmom.typepad.com.... or you can follow from my profile on here, but i have a kid asleep and cutting off my circulation right now. :)

Hey, I just tried to follow you but I didnt see a Google Friend Connect widget...
Hmmmm, you are right. IDK, I'll look into it, It does have facebook and twitter on it....   thanks for letting me know.

This might sound like a stupid question, but should I switch to wordpress before I get anyone following me?

To be honest, I don't know much about the typepad platform.  I've only ever used blogspot (for 1 month) and then I switched to wordpress because I already owned my own domain and it just made sense to do it.  I do know a bit about wordpress because its what I've been using and I love it.  What makes wordpress work for me is the quantity and quality of plugins available at no cost.  And while I did purchase a theme (because I wanted to create my own look) there are a gazillion free themes & templates available for wordpress as well.  Google Friend Connect is easily integrated into wordpress using a widget but I'm not sure if that holds true for typepad because I've never seen the backend of a typad blog.  Does that make sense?

I hope that helps?

Yes it does, and I have already spent about 3 hours trying to figure out the typepad issues with letting people follow and have decided that I'm moving to wordpress.  I am going to wait until I have a little more cash flow before getting the hosting back and doing the paid wordpress version, but will plan on customizing on that stuff later.  I just want to keep going with this, if I lose steam it will fall out of routine and I won't get back to it.  Thank you for the advice, I'll let you know when I get the wordpress blog set up.
