My youngest son (now 1) has suffered from eczema since he was 5 months old. I would love to find out what has worked for others and what has not.Continue
Hi, Rose. Thanks for adding me to your group.
Everyone always told me that too. Although his eczema is much less severe now, it's not that he "grew out of it," because he still has flare-ups and still has his bad days. Rather, when he got older he could communicate better (they can't do that when they're babies), and he can now control his scratching more so with his age. He was literally banned from attending daycare by the doctors, because he had so many infections.
I have heard of some kids completely free of flare-ups and itchiness too, though. They are the lucky ones. Not my son. He still has eczema, and it's still an every day battle for him, but it's better.
On the other hand, I never had rashes or itchiness or ANY signs of eczema until this past summer. It popped up all of a sudden and hasn't gone away.
Hi Kim ~ Welcome!
I wanted to ask you a question since your son is older now. Everyone keeps telling me that my son will "grow out" of his severe eczema. Were you told the same thing… and has your sons gotten better as he's gotten older?
