The biggest surprise was getting pregnant at 41. I thought I was unable to for various reasons. I've been slow to take to being a mommy but now I wish I could stay with my baby girl all day. I so adore her now.

I went to see a psychiatrist for my PPD, and he put me on Pristiq which seems to be working. My 3.5 year old is sleeping through the night and my husband and I are very thankful for that! The trick is to keep them up as much as you can during the day and they will be exhausted by the time it's bedtime. Good luck; and let me know what happens. Gema

The biggest surprise with the arrival of our son (now 4 months old) is how much the lack of sleep has affected by mood and motivation to do anything. I knew it would be hard but it really made me feel unlike myself (especially for the first couple of months). I guess the hormones didn't help either. It's gotten better but he's still not sleeping through the night. How do you guys cope?
