Hi everyone! I'm new to the group and trying to find my way. Any advice?

I've been a mom for 5 years and an educator for nearly 17---5 years as a teacher and 12 as an administrator (principal, vice principal, director) in traditional public and public charter schools in grades K-high school in 3 states.

I have met many parents who have a lot of questions about their child's education or school but often don't have an educator friend to ask. I've also found that even after 17 years in education, I have a hard time making decisions for our kids' education, too. It became clear to me that many parents, to no fault of their own, have no idea what schools are like now and are not sure where to turn for real, honest answers. I launched this blog to help parents understand things from an educator’s perspective, navigate a complicated education terrain, and hopefully shed some light on how to work best with educators while making informed decisions for their child. While I don't have all the answers, I do have thoughts to offer based on my experience as an educator and as a mom. So, consider me your insider princi-PAL.

Overview: One mom’s humorous and candid
memoir shows would-be supermoms how to create a realistically balanced
family life without losing their minds.

A longtime former writer for the Chicago Sun-Times and now a columnist for the Chicago Tribune, Jennifer Grant is no stranger to the common reader. MOMumental is
a foray into the enormously amusing, creative, and taxing process of
raising a family and a starkly honest memoir that mothers everywhere can
identify with. With narrative that is chock-full of humorous, poignant
stories drawn from her everyday adventures as a mother and wife, Grant
presents an entertaining and inspirational book that will give readers uncommon insights about being an intentional parent.

I would like to give something back to my readers (friends), a way of saying thank you for being faithful, folowers, readers, and my wonderful blogosphere friends, that I am so thankful to each one of you for many different reasons. Good luck!

Overview: A grief that knows no boundary.
A love without any limit.
A need that doesn’t end at death.

Corrie Saunders grew up in a life of privilege. But she gave it all up for Jarrod, her Army husband, a man she knew was a hero when she vowed to spend her life with him. She just didn’t expect her hero to sacrifice his life taking on an Iraqi suicide bomber.

Six months after Jarrod’s death, Corrie retreats to the family home her husband inherited deep in the Missouri Ozarks. She doesn’t know how to live without Jarrod—she doesn’t want to. By moving to Saunders Creek and living in a house beloved by him, she hopes that somehow her Jarrod will come back to her.

Something about the house suggests maybe he has. Corrie begins to wonder if she can feel Jarrod’s presence.

Jarrod’s cousin Eli is helping Corrie with the house’s restoration and he knows that his dead cousin is not what Corrie senses. Eli, as a believing man and at odds with his mystically-oriented family members, thinks friendly visits from beyond are hogwash. But he takes spirits with dark intentions seriously. Can he convince Corrie that letting go of Jarrod will lead to finding her footing again— and to the One she can truly put her faith into?
