Comment by Margot Finke on September 20, 2011 at 4:10pm Welcome to Carla and her preschooler.
Esther, I also loved Dolphin Tale. Home schooling your children can be a wonderful experience dor both parent and child. Congratulations.
PLEASE NOTE:
If any of you think your children would enjoy a simple, short time-travel adventure e-book, in easy to open and read PDF, I have just the thing FREE.
I put characters from my 3 latest books into a fun adventure. Two of them must help Taconi and Claude find their way back to the Aussie outback of the 1950s - where they come from.

Comment by Margot Finke on September 2, 2011 at 4:40pm About a month ago I asked for thoughts about using Skype and a Webcam for fun virtual home visits with parents and home schooled kids. Just like my in-person school visit, I would talk about writing books, illustrating them, read one of my latest, and maybe run a short lesson on writing rhyme. If a particular Mom needed something special I would be happy to fit in with her homeschooling needs.
I also encourage the use of active and powerful words when writing any story. The idea is to paint instant word pictures in a reader's head. Doing this makes the plot and the characters come alive. Reading is a Magic Carpet Ride to fun, adventure, and a chance for great educational opportunities. Kids who read succeed!

I'm sponsoring a new Memory Monday Meme with a Link-up. This is the first time I've done a link-up. This first week is all about sharing what you do with Memory Work in your homeschool. Then every Monday we will link-up and share what worked for us, what we worked on, what we have planned, tips for memorizing things, or what ever you want to post about memory work.
I would love to have more link-ups so we can all share ideas.
