Hi I have been a member for a long time but rarely visit the groups or forums. I came today to post an opp and found this group.

We are located in the far NW suburbs of Chicago. We moved to about five acres last August, but have access to another 10-12 should we decide to increase our production. We currently have 35 laying hens (due to lay in September!), 10 turkeys, a newfie pup, a duck and two cats. I love growing our own food and can't wait until we can add cows for milk, goats for goat's milk soap my daughter is interested in making, pigs and beef are also things we are interested in taking on.

Nice to meet you all!

Hi! I am new here since yesterday. My husband and I live on a small, off-the-grid homestead. We try to grow as much as we can and be as self-sufficient as possible. I work from home on the computer. My blog is Homesteading On The Internet.

Hi, I'm new to Mombloggers and have a homesteading blog at http://www.fiberarts.ca/blog/blog

We have 140 acres with wool sheep, angora rabbits, angora goats, llamas and Saanen dairy goats plus assorted chickens, ducks and a couple of conversation starter turkeys.  Joybilee Farm is a fiber farm and artisan studio in BC, Canada.  I talk about spinning, weaving, natural dyeing, green solutions, and eco-farming, and ethical livestock care on my blog.

I blog Mon to Fri and am on Facebook and Twitter as Joybileefarm.  My blog is ad free.

Nice to meet you.

Chris

Hi, ladies! My husband and I own 25 acres and are slowly getting our farm back up and running after years of it not being worked. Right now we have chickens but hope to have a few head of cattle and a couple of pigs within the next 2 years!

Come see: http://mycountryhaven.blogspot.com/

I've not been posting as much as I should due to a lot of things going on with family over the winter, but I'm slowly starting to get back into blogging!

can't believe I stumbled across this! My husband & I are closing (with the help of his parents) on 23.85 acres this week!! Homesteading has been a dream of ours since we were married, glad to find some other crazies! We've kept track of our journey & will continue to do so...we'd LOVE for any of you to chime in with suggestions or comments!! (shh. the land hasn't even been announced on our farm blog yet, we don't want to jinx it!)

Hi ladies! We don't have land - yet, we live in the suburbs but are striving for a semi-self sustanable life. I am also studying herbs :) Glad to be a part of this group.

I just joined this Mom Bloggers club -- I have been studying herbs for medicinal use for a little bit. I have been doing this through independent reading and research. I would love to have a group to chat and learn from!!!

I am the mom of a large family that is looking for land to start homesteading or maybe even a small community!

It is nice to meet you and hope you have a magical day!
