I am lucky that my boys are pretty good sleepers, for the most part, but lately my 6 month old has been teething, growing, and reaching new developmental milestones. Put those all together and that equals sleeping issues!

Today, he had his morning nap, which was 1 hour long, but then went on a 7 HOUR nap strike! I am literally fried! There was crying (his, although I came close), tossing around in his crib, pain meds given, cold cloths sucked on, and still, no sleeping.

How do you stay sane on days like this?!

You mean on top of everything else we are supposed to retain our sanity? No one told me that!
Staying sane is not always an option. LOL kidding. I have a daughter who is almost 3 and my son is 10 months old. My daughter slept through the night at 3 months old and we didn't have too much trouble with her teeth. Owen on the other hand - didn't sleep through the night until 2 weeks ago. Didn't have any sleep schedule, had a really hard time teething. I was at my wits end. So I feel your pain.

Owen loves bath loves loves loves baths. So if he's cranky and nothing I do helps - I give him a bath. I guess playing with the toys keeps his mind off his teeth. There are MANY teething rings out there, try a couple out. I have one of those soothes that has bubbles all over them? I forget the name of it, but he loves it. Raspberry something maybe?

We also have real fruit popsicles with no added sugar we give him those. Just stay real close to make sure they don't choke or chew on the stick once the popsicle is gone. we also make our own popsicles...you can freeze watered down juice, or even just water with a tiny bit of sugar, or yogurt. Sugar water is great for tummy cramps and also for pain. Something about the sugar releases endocrines I believe which help them deal with the pain of teething.

Stay in there! It will get better!
