I like going into a program called TweetDeck (it's free to download) and typing in my tweet there. It automatically shortens your URL so that your tweet is less than 140 characters. Good luck!

This will automatically fix any errors in length for you. And does not require a download!

Jennifer I did mine through google (blogger). I went through my account in google where the feedburner is and added the twitter. So, my feeds go there. It gives you the option for a short url when you set it up..
