Just need to vent for a minute. I company, who will remain nameless but fairly popular with bloggers, sent me a bunch of cake mixes to review. They were just terrible. I tried three of the six they sent and my children would not even eat them. I wrote the company, which I certainly did not need to do, and provided them with a draft of my review (which still contained numerous compliments) asking if they would like me to cancel the review. The PR rep seemed absolutely appalled that I did not like these mixes stating "never have we had a review like this". I have a hard time believing that every other person has liked these mixes. So, this makes me think that people are not being honest (not that I would expect that 100% would not like them, but they were pretty terrible). Has anyone else found that there appears to be positive reviews for a product that you just cannot understand?

Lol man I would do that study... except that my son will reject it no matter what. Don't think that is fair! Thanks for sharing it though. :) Hopefully someone else can take part in it. :)

Just thought I would share - I received this in my email today. I already participated in the study.
Dear Moms,

We've been asked to test a another new children's pacifier that will soon be available on the market for children ages 7 months and under.

The main objective of this test is to see what share of children take this pacifier vs. what share reject it.

In addition to this pacifier, you will receive a free age-appropriate toy for your participation in this study.

If you would like to participate, please reply to this email with your mailing address and the specific age in months of your child (must be 7 months or younger).

After you receive the pacifier and have a few days to try it, we will email you the link to a survey where you can tell us your experiences with this new product.

If you do not have a child 6 to 18 months, but know moms that do, feel free to forward this email to them.

Thanks in advance for your support,

Meg Whitaker

Emmi - I have been blogging for a little over 2 years but I did not start the reviewing until about a year ago I would say. I have been lucky lately with Blog Spark but I would say that at the beginning I had to put in a lot of leg work emailing the companies that I was interested in. There were a lot of no's at first but after a while I started getting more and more yes' and then companies just started coming to me. It is a lot easier now. I think having a high Google rank (3 or above in my opinion) and a high Alexa Rank really helps Plus Twitter follower and Facebook fans are a hot commodity right now. PF people love when you have lots of those.
If you have a question about a specific product I reviewed let me know and I can see if I can help you out. Some PR people are very private and other are happy to have bloggers share their info. It just depends.
