Companies respond at different rates. Sometimes they don't respond but if you put your address in the letter they just send what you requested. Sometimes they get back to you quickly and then take forever to send the package. Sometimes everything is fast and sometimes it's all slow. I just contact several companies at a time and schedule reviews as the product arrives. First come, first serve.

I was just wondering what is the longest time a company got back to your email? Most company I contacted got back the next day or 2 but some I have not heard back for 2 weeks. Is that normal or should I just move on and take it as a NO.

Honestly, I think there is one thing we should all remember...we are providing a service to companies and NOT the other way around. We provide them with true word of mouth to their target audience in a way that already inspires trust. I am more likely to buy something based on a mom blogger experience than an ad in a magazine. The company simply sends a free product. Cheap advertising. Works for us..but because who doesn't love getting free stuff! I just got free curriculum for my kids. But the company will get tons of advertising from me also. They make out. I say approach with confidence. I just got an email today asking me to do a giveaway and review. Companies are seeking the mom blogger route. So, if they turn you down that's fine. There are plenty who will jump at the chance. Let's just all work together and be honest bloggers so companies will be more willing to use us...meaning...communicate and do the review. As many companies out there that don't send products there are just as many bloggers who don't actually do the review once they get the free product. I've also heard that some bloggers do not communicate well. Let the company know when the package arrives and when they are scheduled. In the long run this helps all of us.

well I did it, I sent off my first 'pitch' at about 5pm last night, and around 7pm I got my answer! lol that was fast! The answer was no, but it was a really nice email saying she did a lot of giveaways/review stuff last year and this year she is deciding to take a step back and see what really works. It's okay, it was a good experience to sit down and actually think about what to say in a pitch. I'll try again.

Yeah I was looking at that, I'm gonna look into a couple of them - and I love MBC this is an awesome site for bloggers.
