I fell in love with this book from the very first page.

The author has such an amazing & funny personality.

You can read about her->

About the Author
Brenna Maloney learned at a young age to look at ordinary things in extraordinary ways. She started by making sock bunnies as baby gifts. After her “4 millionth” rabbit, she realized there were lots of other critters to create. Brenna and her family live in Washington, D.C.

I loved this book from the very second I opened it. Brenda has an awesome personality and it shows in her writing. She teaches you that expert sewing skills is definitely not necessary to make these adorable little creatures. She gives tips the entire way through with pictures and details for each step. It will be very helpful when making more stuffy love in the future.

Such as:

-Turn socks inside out when you cut and stitch body parts together.

-Use slip stitch (which she shows an illustration of) to close up the gap after turning and stuffing.

and my very, very favorite-

-Don’t run with scissors, no matter how excited you are about your socks. =P

She lets you know not to get down if the patterns don’t turn out right. When it ends up all funky and wierd, just fix it if you can or throw it out if you can’t. It happens to everyone, but practice helps.

she has the most amazing way of talking to the reader. She doesn’t talk to you like your “just a reader”. she makes you feel welcome, she doesn’t talk “at” you, she speaks “to” you as if you were sitting having a conversation over a glass of tea =)

All the projects were really amazing. I don’t have mine to post on here because my kids just won’t cooperate with me and I only have a couple of days left to write this. So I am going to go ahead and post it, and then show you guys what I made later when I can actually have time to finish them.

I already know- i am going to be making alot of these in the future. I am thinking about just giving all of aidan and adisyn’s stuff animals away and making them new ones. they don’t play with the ones they have now, but i think it would change if the stuff animals were cute, like the ones in these books.

The amazing thing is, is that you can make so many, and have all of them uniquely made. You can put any eyes, nose, mouth that you want. You can give them hair or add spikes or pink frilly ribbon loops.

And your kids can even help make their own. or they could help make them for someone else. it’s always fabulous to share the handmade love.

I love this book and recommend everybody have this on hand for a rainy day or just to spend some crafty time with the kids..=)

The book has 3 chapters. The first chapter is called “easy peasy”.

It contains projects for beginners and children.

-leftover bits: Jellyfish

2nd chapter is “Look ma, no hands”

projects for intermediates
