For 2018, Make Finding the Right Activities for Your Kids Your New Year’s Resolution

New year, new you, new activities for your kids.  Is this is the year that Sam wants to learn to play the violin? Or Suzie wants to take up dancing? Or you need to find John a new lacrosse camp? It can be tough navigating all the options for classes, programs and camps.  In 2018, let other moms…

Each Monday, I have an Activity of the Week at http://LivingMontessoriNow.com. I feature a Montessori-oriented activity I’ve found on the Internet. The activities should be appropriate for parents or teachers. I mention if an activity is only appropriate for a homeschool or traditional school, but the activities are typically appropriate for both.

For the activity of the week, I show an image and describe what I like about the activity. Then I link to the original blog post or site. Where necessary, I have links to articles describing how to use the Montessori methods needed to introduce the activity.

Here's a link to the activities of the week that I've featured so far: http://livingmontessorinow.com/category/activity-of-the-week/
I just featured a Color Walk for today's activity of the week. I think this would be a fun summer activity with a number of different ages. In larger families, I think the older children could enjoy helping the younger ones with this. http://livingmontessorinow.com/2010/07/12/activity-of-week-color-walk/
I love this outdoor extension of Montessori cards and counters using sidewalk chalk and pine cones! Activity of the Week: Montessori Outdoors – Numbers and Counters
To make use of the rest of the summer, Monday’s Activity of the Week was Beach Sensory Tub. There are also links in the post to LOTS of great Montessori-inspired beach-themed activities from Counting Coconuts!
