Cheryl--- you are what all of us would call a Kick-A** Mama Bear.
(Forgive the word with asterisks if it is too much for you!)

This was many years ago when my oldest daughters (now 23 and 22) were with me for a typical day riding the subway (we lived in Boston at the time) to run errands. We were heading to the escalator out of the subway and there was a drunk man leaning up against the wall near the escalator. He grabbed Lauren's arm (she was 4, Ashley was 3) and started pulling her towards him. I had no thought process...I just swung into action. I grabbed her and punched him right in the face. He felt to the ground. Of course, for a fleeting moment I felt bad but I ran up the escalator with the girls. I saw the police go down and one told me, "You're awesome!! He's just a drunk but someone needed to stop him". haha. The funny thing is I am such a major weakling....and I decked this guy. If he weren't drunk he definitely would have punched me back!

Ann - Our neighbor had a moment similar to yours yesterday. As she was walking down into her basement to run on her treadmill, she looked out her sliding glass windows to see a man in a dark hooded sweatshirt looking in her window. She screamed and her husband took off in his boxers after him. The man had parked a few streets down and was probably casing the neighborhood. Luckily her husband got the license plate # to give to the police.

Not really a Momma Bear moment but Papa bear came to the rescue instead.

Great idea Ann! Thank you for the invite. All, please excuse for a few days - not up to snuff right now - BAD bout of strep throat has me really down.

***Mama Bear 'Grrrrr!' is right Jen!***
Susan, you are to be commended for allowing them to come back INSIDE your house.
That must put so much stress on you!
Have you felt comfortable enough to talk to the parents?

hi there!
nice to be here.........

I have to brag a bit...instead of my usual venting. My son, Maxx (10) wanted to start a blog about the adventures he goes on with his favorite puppet, Herman. If you have a child, maybe they'd like to check it out! :)

We had some wonderful neighbors who just LOVED to steal my kids stuff. After a long weekend with the in-laws and a long nap for the whole family our lil' thieves decided to do some breaking and entering. They took the kids new toys and i found some on the front lawn.
Mama bear came out! I told them if they wanna come in my house they better bring back EVERYTHING~ they did and I watch like a proud mama bear when they come over!
