Hey Tonya! This week is better emotionally. However, I think I really let myself get way down and depressed because I'veen nothing but fatigued since. I guess it's just an adjustment period. But I heard from him Sunday and he was in better spirits so that helped a lot! Thanks for checking in! Hope all is well on your end!

Bree: Just checking in to see how you are doing?

Hi Tonya,
No, I don't know anyone who can relate. All of my friends are married and their husbands are home. It's pretty much just my kids and I. I have joined a gym to keep busy. It helps but I'm wondering if the intense sadness I'm feeling is a normal part of the transition. I'm hoping it will pass soon because it's almost unbearable. Not hearing his voice for days at a time is maddening. I know that sounds crazy. It's just really difficult, you know? Of course you do. :)
Thanks for replying. I'm glad to know there ARE women who understand.

Bree: Stay busy. The busier you are the quicker the time flies. Do you know other wives/girlfriends who are going to be alone too? If so organize regular get togethers with them. Nobody understands what you are going through except those going through it too. My husband has been gone over 3 years of the past 6 and that's what got me through. Take a class, make new friends, join a group. Take this time to do all the things you've wanted to do but have put off ... learn a craft, finish photo albums, re-decorate etc.

Hi ladies,
I'm new here. I found this group at the right time. My husband leaves for Basic on Monday. I think I've been living in denial but the anxiety is starting to kick in. I'm just trying to stay focused for the time being but any advice on how to deal with the seperation is welcomed and appreciated!
