howdy all....I'm an AF wife in recenlty left for his second 60 day deployment...but luckily having a 7 month old son helps the time go by much faster...I"m trying really hard to be a more active part of the spouses group on base...I really don't know many people in my area yet....but with him gone...I really need to build up my network of friends....

My name is Cori Pearson. I have a very long family line of Military. First I was born and raised as a military brat! My father was in the Air Force for 27 years and retired as a Chief/First Sergent. I swore growing up that I would never marry into the military life. I always wanted a "normal" life. Yeah, I met and married my husband Chris who is Active Duty Air Force back in 1994. My husband has been active duty now for 16 years! We have 4 wonderful children. 2 Girls and 2 Boys! Yes, we are lucky:) Ages 12, 10, 7, and 5! My brother also served for 6 years in the Air Force before deciding to get out. Plus I have family who also serve in the military. Currently we are stationed at Lackland AFB, San Antonio, TX. This is our 6th base in 14 years of us being together. We have been stationed at F.E. Warren in Cheyenne, WY, Fairchild AFB in Spokane, WA, Moron AFB, Spain, Offutt AFB in Omaha, NE, and Elmendorf AFB in Anchorage, Alaska and now here. Next fall we might fingers crossed get orders to go live at Ramstien AFB in Germany. Our kids are older and it would be great to travel in Europe and go see lots of things that the normal average civilian family will never get to do. There are tons of high's and low's being in the military. For one changing schools and meeting new friends is a big downer for my kids. I can relete to them because right before I started my Senior year at Vandenberg AFB, California were we had been stationed with my father for 8 years we moved and I had to start my Senior Year in a new school with no friends. However, were as after 34 years in the military and moving I am getting sick of it, but it is also something that is given to you as I look at most times as a gift with lots of memories to share with people. Military life style is very different from Civilan Lifestyles. Our husbands go TDY a lot. Are on the clock 24 hours a day, make very little money for all the work and sacrfice's they make, and have to leave us quite a bit for 1+ years at a time leaving us Military Wifes to never keep a job because of moving all the time, being full time mom and dad when Dad isn't around. Juggling everything all by yourselves and more. Would I Change my life, to be honest there are days that Chris can't make it fast enough to 20 years and can get out and retire and get a civilian job, but for the most part I love it. I get a chance to give advice to these young moms now and also young families just starting out. I have been there and got the t-shirt and have lots of information and support that I can give people because of the experiences of being raised in the miltary and being married to it as well. I am a very strong Patriot! I love God, & Country more than most. I still get chocked up watching families go threw this life but also because of the pride I have for it. So I am here if anyone ever wants to just ask questions, advice what ever. I think I might always be able to help any military wife out there in someway that is useful! Thanks for letting me Join this wonderful group and I look forward to lots of discussions.
God Bless,
Cori Pearson

Hi Ladies! My husband is in the Air Force, we are stationed in NM. This is the first time we have lived off base, and can I just say I miss it! 15 years of "base housing" and I miss it! :) Not the housing as much as I miss the support of a military spouse! Unless they themselves or their spouses are in the military, they have no clue! I can't wait to meet you all!

Hello! I am an air force wife and stationed overseas. I have been through 8 deployments now and numerous other TDY's so feel I am very much a true military wife. I have three boys who keep me busy, I go to school full time and hold the fort down. I am anxious to find out where we are headed next! We hope in the next 4 months we will know!

Hi! We are an Army family, through and through! My husband flies UAVs and is getting ready to deploy again. I was also a soldier on active duty for a long time, although I am out and staying home with my 4 boys now.
